Almighty and merciful God, who never ceased to guide His people even as they grew impatient in the desert, show Your mercy also upon us as we discern Your will. Lord Grant us grace that we might not become resentful when Your will for us is unclear. As the Israelites suffering was held in the greater context of redemption, allow us to place our own suffering in the context of Your purpose and love for us. Father, grant us wisdom, that we would know that Your plans are higher than our own.

Create in us a clean heart O God and fill us with compassion for our neighbor, that those who enter into our lives might know of Your goodness as well as Your truth.

Heavenly Father, take from ourselves any worry for the task You have placed before us, and allow our thoughts to rest instead on the glory that You shall reveal.

We ask all these things through Jesus Christ our Lord.
